I am an aspiring film composer in San Diego, California. First I am wondering if you have any advice on making it in the composing world. Second, are there any composers you know of in the San Diego area that would be willing to take on a intern/student?

I have a lot of info about getting into the film music world in my book "The Reel World", which is just out in it's second edition.
However, I don't know of any composers working from San Diego. There would be very little work there.

Hey San Diego composer - I'm a San Diego composer as well - I've been on hiatus from several years ago when I provided orchestral scores for action computer games.

There aren't many jobs in composing here - L.A. is the place to be for that, but joining a few online placement sites (like TAXI or BROADJAM) can work in our favor. While I don't hire interns, maybe we can trade skills and secrets of composing - I'm in the Carmel Mountain Ranch area. Hope you get this message and we can touch base sometime.
